So, Soy Oi had there first official outing on Sunday 25th October at Leamington Autumn market! What an amazing day we had! So many of you came to say hi and grab some grub and we received some wonderful feedback.
Not only on social media but you lovely lot came back to our van to tell us how much you enjoyed the food!!
We also had some beautiful family and friends come to support us for which we will be eternally grateful!
For this market we served up our famous cowboy stew, all day breakfast, soysage cob (roll), burgers and homemade cakes. Obviously the big seller was the cowboy stew which was received with rave reviews.
You dirty lot went and ordered a lot of vegan breakfasts which we did not anticipate and consequently ran out of hash browns, which we discovered are extremely popular. Do not fear veggie friends we will be armed with tons of hash browns at the next market!
The biscoff cakes went down a treat too, they even got a few mentions on Facebook!
The big thing we took from the day was realising just how much of a call there is for vegan food. Customers were extremely surprised to find out that every single last thing on our van (including the people) are vegan! Butter- vegan, bread- vegan, sauces- vegan, people- vegan. We would not expect anyone to have to question if there is animal by-products in food provided by a vegan van therefore all of our stock is scrutinised for any traces or 'may contain' labels before purchase and before it is put onto the van. Even our cleaning products are cruelty free and vegan, because it is a way of life, and one we are extremely proud of!
As well as this we are as eco-friendly as is humanly possible. Our disposable gloves are compostable as are our food containers, so you can rest assure that we are making as minimal an impact on the environment as we can. Even the water we do not use or that is leftover, we take home and water our lovely garden/indoor plants with it. Everything gets disposed of with the welfare of the environment in mind or recycled/reused.
Lastly, our beautiful auntie brought us a little gift while we were on the market, a little dinosaur magnet that we have called Dexter. Your challenge is to seek him out when you visit us, take his picture and tag us in the post, if you do you could be in with a chance of winning one of our wonderful yoga mugs!
We will be appearing at Leamington Christmas market on Sunday 13th December between 10am and 5:30pm.
